Screw fittings are an important pipeline connecting component widely used in various industrial, construction, and civil fields. According to different classification standards, threaded fittings can be classified into various types.
1、 Classification by thread type
NPT threaded fittings: NPT is the abbreviation for National (American) Pipe Thread, which belongs to the American standard of 60 degree vertebral pipe thread. It is used in North America and can be found in GB/T12716-1991. This type of pipe fitting is commonly used for fluid transmission under high pressure, high temperature, and high viscosity.
PT (BSPT) threaded fittings: PT is the abbreviation of Pipe Thread, which is a 55 degree sealed conical pipe thread belonging to the Wyeth thread family. It is commonly used in Europe and Commonwealth countries, and is commonly used in the water and gas pipe industry. The taper is 1:16, and the national standard can be found in GB/T7306-2000. This type of pipe fitting has good sealing performance and tensile strength, and is suitable for various fluid transmissions.
G threaded pipe fittings: G is a 55 degree non threaded sealing pipe thread, belonging to the Wyeth thread family. Marked as G represents cylindrical thread. This type of pipe fitting is commonly used for low pressure, low temperature, and low viscosity fluid transmission.
2、 Classification by pipe shape
Elbow: used to change the direction of the pipeline, usually at two angles of 45 degrees and 90 degrees.
Tee: Used to branch a pipeline into two or three pipes, usually available in two types: equal diameter tees and reducing diameter tees.
Four way: used to branch a pipeline into four pipes, suitable for complex pipeline systems.
Pipe clamp: used to connect two pipes, usually used in conjunction with clamps or flanges.
Pipe plug: used to seal the end or branch of a pipeline to prevent fluid leakage.
Core repair: used to repair damaged pipes or connect pipes of different specifications.
In addition, when selecting threaded fittings, attention should be paid to the selection of materials. For example, metal fittings have high pressure resistance and are suitable for fluid transmission under high pressure, high temperature, and high viscosity; Plastic pipe fittings, on the other hand, have good corrosion resistance and portability, making them suitable for low pressure, low temperature, and low viscosity fluid transmission.
